Katrina Plotz, Israel and Gays

Katrina Plotz is a Minnesota-based substitute public school teacher and writer with a passion for attempting to delegitimize Israel.

Plotz has affiliations with the Palestine Solidarity Group, and to appearances agrees with it that Israel has no right to exist. Admittedly, what I know about the specifics of her views, I have gleaned through media reports. Still, Plotz does appear to be associated with groups that reject Israel's right to exist. Furthermore, among all the existing competing narratives regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Plotz, to judge by the organizations with which she is associated, agrees that there is no reason, ever, to discuss the circumstances of the U.N. Partition Plan of 1947.

The Partition Plan was a two-state solution that envisioned Jerusalem as an international protectorate with no favor given to any one religious group. The Jews accepted it; the Arabs rejected it. And, the Arabs then mounted a war against Israel, with the aim of destroying it. Leaders of the fledgling Israel included the following in their Declaration of Independence: WE APPEAL - in the very midst of the onslaught launched against us now for months - to the Arab inhabitants of the State of Israel to preserve peace and participate in the upbuilding of the State on the basis of full and equal citizenship and due representation in all its provisional and permanent institutions."

Some weight of evidence suggests they were sincere in that offer (though war nonetheless was waged against them by many of the people to whom that was directed). The Israeli-Arab Salim Joubran has a permanent appointment to the Israeli Supreme Court, for example. There are mosques in Israel, but no Jewish temples in the Palestinian-controlled areas (to say nothing of Jordan, once part of the British Mandate for Palestine, where today,  no Jew may be a citizen or buy land).

Even in the face of possible anti-mosque terrorism -- as when an Israeli mosque appeared to have been attacked by an arsonist -- Israeli Jews, and Jews from other places, deplore the attack and convey their solidarity to that Israeli mosque's Imam.

In the context of documentable reality, therefore, there is something suspect about Katrina Plotz's apparent total delegitimizing of Israel, and her apparent willingness to assign all blame to it while giving a pass on everything to its enemies. Moreover, whereas Plotz and her associates appear not even to acknowledge the legitimacy of the 1947 Partition Plan, Palestinian Authority President Abbas says that rejecting the Partition Plan was "an Arab mistake."

Plotz has attempted to travel into the Middle East and then has been surprised and outraged when Israel has called her a "security threat" and deported her. Whatever the facts surrounding that deportation, it is not a stretch to conclude that Plotz might have sincerely good intentions, but that her head nonetheless is not screwed on quite right. And, that combination of circumstances could be detracting from the efficacy of her efforts to achieve justice for certain persons, including eventual gay persons in Gaza, the West Bank (to the extent that she has ever expressed an interest in LGBTers in those places) and the Anoka-Hennepin School District in Minnesota. Anoka-Hennepin is notorious for having a school board that enables gay bashers in the district.

Plotz substitute teaches in the Anoka-Hennepin Schools. She is part of the Anoka-Hennepin Gay Equity Team. She sent a scolding private Facebook message to this reporter, saying that her group does not agree with this petition pertaining to the district Superintendent Dennis Carlson. She claimed aspects of the petition are "inaccurate," though they were had from direct communications with certain minority members of the district alleging harm done to them there. She appeared to express the idea that this reporter should never report on anything about Anoka-Hennepin without her prior approval of the contents of the published reports.

Plotz's scolding extended to disagreement with this reporter over the quality of the Southern Poverty Law Center's involvement in Anoka-Hennepin matters. The SPLC filed this lawsuit  in a federal court on July 21, 2011, but instead of going ahead to trial with it, started holding tea parties with school officials. Even as the SPLC is putting advertisements of its involvement in Anoka-Hennepin on its website next to "Donate Now" buttons, the student's who are alleging victimization in the suit are not any closer to having the demanded compensatory and punitive damages. And meanwhile, after months and months of SPLC-Anoka-Hennepin tea parties, the school actually proposed instituting a "Controversial Topics" policy that would have stigmatized LGBT students as "controversial" simply because they are members of sexual minorities. Plotz is scolding me for my criticism of the SPLC, and insinuating that I should make no further criticisms of it, even though I am pointing out that the alleged victims remain uncompensated while the school continues pumping out ridiculous gay-bashing policy proposals like the "Controversial Topics" policy.

Plotz appears to be a person who stakes out a position and then clings to it, no matter what other evidence might be at hand. It is possible that that characteristic informs her views of the Middle East and of such matters as the Southern Poverty Law Center's involvement in the Anoka-Hennepin School District. The SPLC provides many laudable information-gathering and public communications services. It has won court cases against racist hate groups. But for whatever reasons, it has yet to build up a record of suing gay-bashers in ways that significantly deter other gay bashers from inflicting harm on innocent people. Plotz noted that she feels the SPLC have been "amazing advocates for LGBT students and families in our community."

She is entitled to express that thought, but not to tell me that I have to filter all my article copy about Anoka-Hennepin through her for approval. If the SPLC have been such "amazing advocates," where are the compensatory and punitive damages the victims named in the lawsuit are due, and why do gay-bashers still feel emboldened there to suggest such insulting nonsense as the "Controversial Topics" policy?

Joseph Backholm is the gay-bashing Christofascist who heads the so-called Family Policy Institute of Washington, an anti-LGBT hate group.

It is very important for us to call to the public's attention the distinction between a sane, normal Christian American who understands and consistently respects the constitutionally-mandated separation of church and state, and Christofascist theocRATs who want to deny you equal protection under the law because you don't conform to their dictates of how they think Jesus believes you should live your life.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is an example of a sane, normal Christian American who respects the separation of church and state, and Americans of all religions. (The Christofascist Backholm does not respect people of all religions). Saqib Ali is from a Muslim family, and he too is a sane, normal American who understands the constitutionally-mandated separation of church and state. As the first Muslim Delegate to the Maryland State Assembly, he voted in favor of marriage equality, saying that religious beliefs could not cause him to vote against other people's civil rights.

Joseph Backholm, by contrast, as a Christofascist thinks that U.S. laws are only valid if they reflect his Christofascist idea of what theocratic lunacy has to be imposed on you in order for his God to be happy with him. When an Episcopalian came out in favor of marriage equality, the Christofascist Joseph Backholm declared that Epsicopalianism is not a real religion.

Backholm does not hide that he is trying to impose theocRAT law on innocent LGBTers.  His site has this gay-bashing letter from Catholic Bishops in Washington State. Backholm the Christofascist gay-basher also has this anti-LGBT hate speech document on his site. In that hate-speech document, we read that "The tendency of male homosexual acts to spread disease may help explain the revulsion many people feel about them."

A sane, normal Christian American has empathy for the sick.  A Christofascist by contrast is characterized by having contempt for sick people. By all legal means possible, we must keep Joseph Backholm's and all other Christofascist theocRATs' filthy mitts off of our Constitution and our country's laws.

Christofascist Joseph Backholm is the Washington State associate for additional hate groups including Focus on the Family, the Family Research Council, and the Alliance Defense Fund. As Right Wing Watch has noted, the Alliance Defense Fund monsters "are particularly persistent in attacking attempts by homosexuals to have families, establish domestic partnerships or civil unions, or to be protected from discrimination in employment or housing." In light of that, pause to consider that the present Commissioner for the Washington State Human Rights Commission, Charlene Strong had a partner of nine years, Kate Fleming, who died in 2006 when a flash flood trapped her inside her Madison Valley, Seattle, basement recording studio during the Hanukkah Evening Wind Storm. Arriving at the hospital, Strong was initially prevented from joining Fleming, despite their long partnership, because Washington State did not recognize domestic partners.


Bigots by definition are malicious sadists who take pathological pleasure from the suffering inflicted on their victims. Stand up against Christofascist bigots like Joseph Backholm as if your life depended on it. Dear, Dear Kathleen Kositzky Crank:

After you have read this letter through to the end, print it out and take it to a competent and highly-experienced mental health professional with a specialization in child psychology. Ask that mental health professional this question:

"In taking my daughter Sarah to the Maryland State Senate to deliver an anti-gay-rights speech, was I truly doing what was best for her on her 14th birthday? Was I?"

You have put yourself and your home-schooled 14-year-old daughter Sarah Crank in unacceptable, worrisome positions by having her parrot your lying anti-gay propaganda in front of the Maryland State Senate.

In this open letter to you, I am going to examine your daughter's statements to the Senators one by one.

I know from your online comments about this matter on various websites that you want the world to believe that your daughter Sarah Crank -- (whom you -- in connection with Sarah's anti-gay hate speech -- personally announced to many blogs as the 2011 Junior Miss Greenbelt) -- composed her entire lying anti-gay propaganda hate speech all by herself.  Yet, you also said on the blogs that you helped her to shape and to edit the speech. You specifically said that you "trimmed" it for her, meaning, you had a hand in determining what got included. Furthermore, in many comments on many different websites, you have been fanatical in defending your daughter's lying anti-gay propaganda. You also have a history of many-years-long personal political engagement with lying about gay human beings and attempting to prevent them from having equal protection under the law. You are so addicted to lying about gay human beings that you have no mental means of objectively evaluating whether a thing said about gay human beings is true or not; and you have infected your daughter with your lying anti-gay hatred. All of that makes it hard -- if not impossible -- to believe that your daughter delivered her anti-gay hate speech to the Senate without significant, inappropriate, behind-the-scenes long-term emotional manipulations and forms of coercion from you.

Before I analyze your daughter's speech line by line, I want to make clear that my shock and alarm over your daughter's political anti-gay hate speech includes a concern for her psychological well-being that you in allowing her to make the speech conspicuously lacked. I recommend with urgency that you print this letter out in its entirety and take it to a competent mental health professional.  Do *not* go to a phony counselor of any sort. I now repeat the instruction for you to take this letter to a competent and highly-experienced mental health professional with a specialization in child psychology. Ask that professional this question:

"In taking my daughter Sarah to the Maryland State Senate to deliver an anti-gay-rights speech, was I truly doing what was best for her on her 14th birthday? Was I?"

You need to re-prioritize your parenting activities, Kathleen. With urgency, you need to think less about non-existent threats from gay people and more about the actual harm you are causing your own child.

Now to the promised line-by-line analysis of Sarah's speech to the Senators.

She started by saying: "Hi, I’m Sarah Crank. Today’s my 14th birthday, and it would be the best birthday present ever if you would vote ‘no’ on gay marriage."

ANALYSIS:  Votes on proposed laws are not cast as "birthday presents." As Sarah's home-schooling teaching authority, you should have taught Sarah that it is illogical to ask for an anti-gay rights law as a birthday present. That you approved of your daughter telling the Senators that her "best birthday present ever" would be the Senators' votes against marriage equality speaks volumes about what is corrupt, twisted and sick in your parenting of her. Additionally, this ludicrous emotional appeal from a girl to Senators created an impression that you were hoping to manipulate a "swing vote" among Senators -- who -- in reality -- have a professional obligation to the public *not* to decide their vote  -- on any proposed law because a 14-year-old said she wanted the proposed law defeated as her birthday present. If you have a defensive reaction to this "birthday present" analysis, and want to lash out, saying it is not accurate, again, I urge you -- for your daughter's sake -- to consult with a competent and highly-experienced child psychologist. You properly should believe that your daughter's mental and emotional health are more important than any aspect of your anti-gay-rights crusade. The current appearance is that you do not.

Sarah next said:  "I really feel bad for the kids who have two parents of the same gender."

ANALYSIS: With or without a marriage equality law in Maryland, there are same-gender couples raising children in the state. At issue is whether those same-sex Maryland couples raising children will have state-level legal parity with their heterosexual counterparts. Sarah was asking the Senate to keep those Maryland children being raised by same-sex parents legally disadvantaged. She was actually asking the Senators to keep certain other Maryland children legally disadvantaged because she "really" feels bad for them. That is duplicitous, and it absolutely is hate speech with a hateful goal. How can you sleep at night or live with yourself, Kathleen Crank, having sent your child to tell Senators that they should keep other people's children legally disadvantaged? I personally know a gay couple raising a child in Maryland. The child is one of the gay men's nieces; her heterosexual parents were killed in a car accident. Who are you and your daughter to keep that couple and their child legally disadvantaged in your state?  Who is Sarah Crank to say that she  "really feels sorry" for this orphaned Maryland child being raised by her uncle and his husband that she does not even know? She feels so sorry for that other little girl, in fact, that she is telling Senators to keep that other little girl legally disadvantaged. Who are you to incite your daughter to say such a ridiculous, hateful thing? It is hateful to tell Senators to keep other children legally disadvantaged because you are bigoted against gay human beings.

Sarah next said:  "Even though some kids feel like it’s fine, they have no idea what kind of wonderful experiences they miss out on."

ANALYSIS: In the aforementioned case of the orphaned child being raised by her gay uncle and that uncle's male spouse -- to cite one example -- it is hard to fathom what sort of "wonderful experiences" Sarah believes the child is missing out on. Were that child not with her uncle, she most likely would have become a ward of the state, hoping for people to adopt her. Does Sarah Crank allege that that child would be better off with heterosexual strangers than with the uncle who held her the day she was born and showered her with love as grew from babyhood to toddlerhood and then took her into his home as his own flesh-and-blood?  On its face, Sarah's statement is absurd, a shameful, lying, gay-bashing thing to say.

Sarah next said:  "I don’t want any more kids to get confused about what’s right and okay."

ANALYSIS: Sarah Crank is the one confused about "what's right and okay."  And it is you, Kathleen Crank, her homeschooling, gay-bashing bigot mother, who has confused her. It is not "right and okay" to keep children legally disadvantaged because they are being raised by same-sex couples.  It is not "right and okay" to deny equal protection under the law to an orphaned child and the gay uncle now raising her. Kathleen Crank -- you are not teaching your child to think through child-welfare-related questions and the law with anything resembling genuine concern for child welfare. Rather, you have indoctrinated her into thinking about such issues from a baseline of hate against, and bullying, irrational non-acceptance of all gay human beings. And that is a violation of your child's human rights. Every child has a human right to be guided well in acquiring thinking skills free from the ingrained, deranged, irrational horror-show judgments of a bigot. Your child might have received such guidance already, had she not been marooned in her home-schooling situation with you. That you took her to the Senate to deliver her lying bigoted hate-speech -- on her BIRTHDAY -- on what for other children was a school day, proves the point.

Sarah next said:  "I really don’t want to grow up in a world where marriage isn’t such a special thing anymore."

ANALYSIS: This statement demonstrates Sarah's ignorance of the world in which she is growing up. If the only measuring stick for whether marriage is "special" is its being restricted to heterosexual couples, then that would mean that abusive heterosexual parents are "special" to the children they are abusing, but non-abusive, married gay parents are not "special" for the children they are raising with love. Sarah's statements shows that her mother is not really teaching her the meaning of love. It shows that she is being taught that to make herself feel "special," she has to engage in beating a minority down. That is the pathological psychology of heterosupremacists. It is not mentally healthy. It has nothing to do with actual love. 

Sarah next said:  "It’s rather scary to think that when I grow up, the legislature or the court can change the definition of any word they want."

ANALYSIS: This statement contains an admission, Kathleen Crank, that you are teaching your child irrational fear of gay human beings. Why has Sarah been taught that it is "rather scary" that a legislature or court can change the definition of a word? In U.S. history, the word "voter" has been changed to include women.  Is Sarah unaware of that legal change in the definition of a word? There is a very long and shameful history of Jews being legally discriminated against in Maryland.  You, Kathleen Crank, justify your contempt for gay human beings with your extremist, terroristic interpretation of Christianity, and thus, it is relevant here to recall that colonial Maryland had laws that made it illegal not to believe in Jesus.  One such law read that "if any person shall hereafter within this province . . deny our Savior Jesus Christ to be the Son of God, or shall deny the Holy Trinity" he shall, for the first offense, be fined and have his tongue bored; for the second, fined and have his head burned; for the third, put to death. In Maryland, the words "voter" and "office holder" were not "re-defined" to include Jews until 1825 and 1826, and even then, Jews were required by the law to profess a belief in an alleged afterlife. Kathleen Crank; you have documentably failed to teach your daughter the history of legislatures and courts changing definitions of words for legal purposes. You are not a competent homeschooling parent. Your child-student does not know many basics of her state's history that many public school students by contrast do know.

Sarah next said:  "If they can change the definition of ‘marriage’, then they can change the definition of any word."

ANALYSIS: This statement draws additional attention to Kathleen Crank's failure to teach her daughter Sarah certain very fundamental basics of her state's and country's government. Hardly a law gets passed without changing the definition of at least one word. For example, every time a new criminal law is passed, the definition of "criminal" changes. Perhaps it should be criminal so to indoctrinate one's child with blinding hate that she goes before the Senate and makes statements revealing profound ignorance of how that Senate functions, redefining words every time it passes a new law.

Sarah next said:  "People have the choice to be gay, but I don’t want to be affected by their choice."

ANALYSIS: Which "people" is Sarah talking about? Psychiatry and psychology do not think that gay people have "chosen" to be gay. And, a heterosexual person could force themselves through the motions of homosexual sex, but could not in any meaningful way ever "choose" to be gay, as by definition, being heterosexual they will continue feeling sexual attraction for the opposite sex.  

Where Sarah said "I don't want to be affected by their choice," one has to presume from the context that she meant she believes that she personally would be negatively impacted by the fact of gay couples marrying. In alleging that, Sarah is fraudulently alleging a tort and also, she is defaming gay human beings. Her case is not persuasive. No judge could be persuaded with Sarah's statements that she will -- as she claims -- be done some personal harm through a marriage equality law.  Marriage equality will not prevent Sarah from marrying when she is of age. Marriage equality will not in any way limit Sarah's earning potential or limit her from applying for and/or from accepting a job. Just because Sarah has been taught to hate homos and does not want them to have equal protection under the law does not mean that when homos have equal protection under the law, Sarah will not.  Kathleen Crank has brainwashed her daughter Sarah into a delusional paranoid belief that marriage equality will cause her a personal harm. The mother's pathological, blind hatred of gays has left the daughter out of touch with reality.

Sarah next said: "People say that they were just born that way, but I’ve met really nice adults who did change."

ANALYSIS: Now, Sarah is feeding the Senators "evidence" that she is not credentialed to evaluate.  And, she is not giving the Senators adequate information about her claims, for the Senators to be able to evaluate her statement in a scientific light. Furthermore, by stating that gay people who allege to have "changed" into heterosexuals are "really nice adults," Sarah is implying that gay people who don't "change" into heterosexuals are not "really nice." Sarah's sentence is more reflective of stupidity and bigotry than of anything else. It does not at all take into account why gay people want marriage equality, nor does it provide evidence for why gay people who do not want to "change" into heterosexuals should not have equality.  Furthermore, on a site where Kathleen Crank was very heavily involved with gay bashing in the context of defending Sarah's Senate anti-gay hate speech presentation, a gay married man with adopted children offered -- more than once -- to communicate with Kathleen and Sarah so that they could meet some "really nice" people in a gay-led family. Kathleen flatly refused the communication. She is keeping Sarah isolated from gay-led families in order to promote Sarah as her proxy political anti-gay bigot. 

Sarah finished by saying: "So please vote ‘no’ on gay marriage. Thank you."

ANALYSIS: Kathleen Crank is blinded by fanatical anti-gay bigotry, to such a degree that -- at least at times  -- she is unable to make the best possible educational and life decisions for her daughter Sarah. In the event that one of Kathleen's children were actually to be gay, Kathleen's lack of scientific understanding of and human empathy for gay human beings would likely make it impossible for such an eventual gay child to feel emotionally safe in the home. Still less would the child likely ever feel safe coming out to this fire-breathing-anti-gay-bigot mother. Sarah is having her intellect circumscribed by her fanatical mother; the mother's hateful indoctrination of the child has even extended to the child's not having a basic grasp of how U.S. lawmakers function, though the child is already 14 and though many 14-year-olds have learned such things in civics classes. The mother's exploitations of the child as a political proxy for anti-gay hatreds is not appropriate to the child's development. Kathleen Crank should now feel utmost urgency about getting mental health assistance from a competent and highly-experience child psychology specialist. Kathleen Crank needs to focus on and worry less about what gay people and their heterosexual supporters are doing, and more on what she is inflicting on her poor child, so that she can begin to stop inflicting all of it on her. BIGOT PAGEANT OFFICIALS MELTING IN HEAT

Sarah Crank is the 14-year-old gay-bashing bigot who went in front of the Maryland State Senate and told elected officials that if they continue to deny gay citizens equal protection under the law, that will be her best ever birthday present.

Crank is a 2011 Junior Miss Greenbelt.

The Miss Greenbelt pageants' sponsors mainly favor equality for LGBT human beings. The report and action request at this next link -- STANDING UP TO GAY-BASHING CRANKS  -- named many of those sponsors and urged concerned citizens to tell the companies that the Junior Miss Greenbelt 2011, Sarah Crank, is polluting the companies' gay-friendly public images by going to the Maryland State Senate and telling elected officials to deny gay citizens equal protection under the law.

Shortly after that report and action request was published, the list of Miss Greenbelt pageant sponsors disappeared from the Miss Greenbelt website.  It seems the bigot pageant officials can not take the heat.

STANDING UP TO GAY-BASHING CRANKS

WTF?  Yes; it sounds almost unbelievable; but listen to the sick and twisted aural recording above of the gay-bashing beauty queen Sarah Crank urging Maryland State Senators to keep homos and lezzies legally disadvantaged, and you'll know; this thing really happened.

Did I say beauty queen?  Did I say that the 14-year-old gay-bashing bigot Sarah Crank is a beauty queen?

Why, yes, I did. the brainwashed, gay-bashing tyke is the 2011 Junior Miss Greenbelt.

Greenbelt is a city in Prince George's County, Maryland.  Being as the 2011 Junior Miss Greenbelt is a malicious little gay-basher, and the daughter of a professional political gay-basher, you could be forgiven for supposing that the Miss Greenbelt pageants must be anti-gay-hatred central.

Yet -- investigations revealed that in truth, many Miss Greenbelt pageant sponsors claim to be LGBT-friendly companies. In fact, it is a distinct pleasure to see how many of these companies appear to take their human rights obligations to gay people seriously.

And, that is precisely where we see that the professional political gay basher Kathleen Crank and her gay-bashing brainwashed Junior Miss Greenbelt title-holder are raging HYPOCRITES.

Though they run around saying that homos and lezzies are an unfathomable evil and threat to all society, Kathleen Crank and Sarah Crank have accepted a title, a crown, a sash, and prize monies from companies that state openly that they have a vested interest in advancing LGBT-related human rights, including -- wait for it -- MARRIAGE EQUALITY.

If Kathleen Crank and Sarah Crank are serious about wanting to do everything possible to protect society against the evils of homosexuals, they will return this Junior Miss Greenbelt title, crown, sash and prizes to these companies that are trying to get MARRIAGE EQUALITY advanced not only in Maryland but throughout the world.

And who knows what the Miss Greenbelt pageant officials think?

After I first published this blog, those Miss Greenbelt officials removed the pageant sponsor list  from their website, replacing it with this message; BE BACK SOON.  They maybe had never heard of a screen save.  The fact is, the LGBT-friendly corporations listed below on this blog had been effusively thanked by the pageant officials -- on the Miss Greenbelt pageant site -- for having donated prizes and scholarships to the Miss Greenbelt pageant winners. That's right -- the Miss Greenbelt pageant officials had thanked LGBT-friendly, affirmative, and rights-promoting companies for sponsoring the title, crown, sash and prizes that the gay-bashing Cranks so readily accepted.  If the Cranks are so serious about political gay-bashing that they go to the Maryland State Senate to say that voting no on marriage equality would be Sarah Crank's best birthday present ever, then those same gay-bashing Cranks are STINKING HYPOCRITES for taking the honors from the gay-friendly sponsors of the Miss Greenbelt pageants.

Sarah Crank -- the 2011 Junior Miss Greenbelt -- is a daughter of a Concerned Women for America anti-gay bigot and lobbyist. As mentioned above, the gay-bashing bigot mother's name is Kathleen Kositzky Crank and she is a major hypocrite, because she let her tyrannical theocrat-in-training daughter compete in a pageant that had the following corporate sponsors with LGBT inclusive hiring practices (among other gay-friendly, Miss Greenbelt sponsoring companies):

You can search online and find where Crank calls her gay-bashing a matter of her "principles." If Crank really thinks that opposing gay rights with every fiber of her being is a matter of her defense of her "principles," she must now return the Miss Greenbelt pageant MONEY, CROWN and SASH. 

Scroll to the bottom of this page to find the corporate contact addresses and the Facebook, Twitter and Google+ links to the companies that sponsored the Miss Greenbelt pageants.  All of these companies were thanked by Miss Greenbelt pageant officials for supporting the Miss Greenbelt pageants with their money and their company reputations. Let's find out -- by letting these gay-friendly companies know of this Junior Miss Greenbelt's egregious political gay bashing -- whether the LGBT-friendly beauty pageant sponsors have a problem with their Junior Miss winner bearing false witness against gay human beings in front of Maryland State Senators.  Sarah Crank told the Senators "I really feel bad for the kids who have two parents of the same gender. Even though some kids feel like it's fine, they have no idea what kind of wonderful experiences they miss out on."

By what demented logic is that an argument against marriage equality?

Here are some things that the corporate sponsors of the Miss Greenbelt pageants have to realize about Sarah Crank, 2011 Junior Miss Greenbelt.  Not a single LGBT human being is seeking to have Sarah Crank denied equal protection under the law. Nonetheless, Sarah told elected officials it would be her best ever birthday present if they would continue to deny gay human beings equal protection under the law.  And, though no young person being raised by gay parents has done the least negative thing to Sarah Crank, Sarah Crank sought to stigmatize all children being raised by gay parents, and she sought to stigmatize those children in the context of telling law makers to keep those children's gay parents deprived of equal protection under the law.

The Miss Greenbelt pageant officials themselves, as well as the corporate sponsors of the Miss Greenbelt pageants, must now ask themselves; is it acceptable for our event, and our company names, to be associated with this depraved level of ignorance-and-contempt-filled bigotry against sexual minorities?  Why, if we would not accept this level of ignorance-and-contempt-filled bigotry against Jews, or Muslims, or blacks, are we accepting it against gay human beings?

Sarah Crank's mother Kathleen Kositzky Crank is a professional political gay basher with years and years of lying about a minority on her character ledger.  Dementedly triumphal after Sarah's hateful gay-bashing testimony to the Maryland State Senate, Kathleen Crank went on an internet trolling binge. Look what she revealed about some of the motivations for her contempt for gay human beings on this blog.

"Jesus Christ is real, and your eternal destiny depends on the decision you make to accept salvation and forgiveness that only He can offer, or accept the fate of those who reject Him. I would not wish that fate on my worst enemy. You tube [sic] has some pretty scary stuff about people who have had realistic visions of hell. One girl even paints it. I am not trying to scare you, but heaven and hell are real, and our lives here are very short. You are a lot more than the sexual identity you claim, and I encourage you to seek God for your purpose here on earth."

MOMMY DEAREST Crank is home-schooling her daughter to hate -- and forcefully to not accept -- anyone who does not believe what her mother tells her to believe.

We must ask the corporate sponsors of the Miss Greenbelt pageants what they think about their 2011  Junior Miss winner saying "People have a choice to be gay but I don't want to be affected by their choice," telling the senators, "people say that they were just born that way, but I have met really nice adults who did change."

Put that 14-year-old bigot's lying little tuchus under oath on a witness stand, and just see if she can prove that if people "choose" to be gay, she personally is negatively "affected" by their choice. When Sarah Crank alleges to Senators that gay human beings cause her some personal negative result because they have "chosen" to be gay, she is bearing false witness against all members of a minority.

Maybe, incidentally, Mommy Dearest did not tell her gay-bashing daughter about bisexuals.  She herself perhaps does not have a clue about them.  Look what she said:

"Recently a famous person admitted that her choice was indeed a choice. She took a lot of heat for it from the GLBT community . Can't remember her name right now."

Of course, Cranky was talking about Cynthia Nixon, who had said she did not want to use the word bisexual for herself, "because everyone dumps on bisexuals." What Crank does not mention (among a whole bovine feces load of other things she does not know, or willfully ignores in order to further her gay-bashing bigot agenda) is that Cynthia and her female fiance are soon be married. Episcopalian Bishop Gene Robinson will officiate at their wedding ceremony in New York state, where their marriage rights will be recognized. 

Many, many additional Christian churches also recognize the rights of LGBT couples to marry, even in Greenbelt, Maryland.  Miss Greenbelt pageant organizers, for example, had thanked the Greenbelt Community Church which believes:


"What brings us together is a loving God who calls us to peace, justice and love." This United Church of Christ congregation belong to a community of churches that on July 4, 2005 affirmed "equal marriage rights for couples regardless of gender" and declared, "The government should not interfere with couples regardless of gender who choose to marry and share fully and equally in the rights, responsibilities and commitment of legally recognized marriage." They also resolved to call for  "an end to rhetoric that fuels hostility, misunderstanding, fear and hatred expressed toward gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender persons."


What earthly sense does it make for such LGBT-affirmative sponsors of the Miss Greenbelt pageant to fund wins for a gay-bashing bigot like Sarah Crank?  It is as bad as if a Jewish organization had given an award to a teenager who then delivered a neo-Nazi speech asking lawmakers to cut Jews off from equal protection under the law.


Kathleen Crank also lets her daughter wear the sash from the Miss Greenbelt pageant, whose officials thanked T.G.I. Friday's -- whose LGBT employees have domestic partnership benefits.

The pageant officials also gave extra special thanks to additional LGBT-inclusive companies including The Greenbelt  Marriott, a Marriott Hotel franchise, which is a partner with The National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and with International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA)

supporting LGBT travelers worldwide. 

Pageant officials moreover thanked  Hilton Garden Inn, a Hilton Hotel franchise:

Hilton Worldwide is a proud supporter of IGLTA and was proud to sponsor 2009's Convention.  

Pageant organizers further thanked Greenbelt Holiday Inn, an InterContinental Hotel  franchise that does:

Recruit and promote individuals based solely on their suitability for the job without discriminating on the grounds of race, colour, ethnic or national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, marital status or disability ...

Sarah Crank abused her Junior Miss Greenbelt pageant win to extend her 15-minutes of fame, telling Maryland state senators to "vote no on gay marriage." Let's see what these corporations affiliated with the Miss Greenbelt pageants will say when they find out that the girl who took their prize money is against their hiring policies, and their LGBT employees' and customers' rights. These corporations should take a stand for LGBTIQ equality and not let these Cranks get away with their hateful, lying, aggressively public anti-gay bigotry and hypocrisy.

Please make sure all these companies see this blog post.  You can post the link to it on their Facebook pages, to their Twitter and Google+ accounts, and you can also link this article to the companies' comment pages.  Ask the companies if they want their corporations' good names foully stained by the shameless gay-bashing bigotry of the little beauty contest winner Sarah Crank, and the shameless gay-bashing bigotry of her heterosupremacist home-schooling teacher Mommy Dearest Kathleen Kositzky Crank. I repeat; if these companies have any true honor, they will say "Not in our name!" to Sarah Crank's bearing of false witness against a minority.  If the Miss Greenbelt pageant organizers have any true honor, they too will say "Not in our name!" to the 2011 Junior Miss Greenbelt Sarah Crank's bearing of false witness against a minority. They will strip Sarah Crank the politicized gay-bashing teen of her Miss Greenbelt title, crown, sash and other prize benefits.

But even more than that, Kathleen Crank and Sarah Crank have to show whether they are serious about beating down gay human beings and their rights, or if they are STINKING HYPOCRITES.  Hear this, Kathleen and Sarah Crank; either give back the gay-friendly Junior Miss Greenbelt title, crown, sash and prize monies, or be known forever more as STINKING HYPOCRITES who gay-bash to the Maryland State Senate even as they are taking the prestige, garments and money from gay-friendly sponsors of the Miss Greenbelt pageants.
