HOW TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE GAY-BASHING HATE GROUP "CONCERNED WOMEN FOR AMERICA"

by Scott Rose

The so-called Concerned Women for America is a very powerful, politically-connected, viciously anti-gay lobbying group. The Southern Poverty Law Center's description of CWFA as an anti-gay group can be read here. Every time any matter of gay rights is before a legislative body anywhere in the United States, the sadistic, bullying haters of CWFA are there, urging elected officials to perpetuate sexual orientation apartheid.

This hate group opposes legal recognition of LGBT rights as civil rights. CWFA is even against gay human beings' right to consensual love-making in their own homes. To clarify that point; if CWFA had its druthers, gay people would be jailed for making love with each other. As a lobbying group, CWFA is very actively opposed to the proposed Employment Non-Discrimination Act. This hate group does incalculable harm by incessantly and intentionally telling demented lies against gay human beings. CWFA does not hesitate to tell their demented lies against gay human beings to U.S. government officials including Representatives and Senators.

These nasty gay-bashing bigots justify all of their political gay-bashing on a single, untestable, hearsay allegation; that homosexuality is "against God."  Below is a sample letter that you can send to your Congressperson, Senator and other elected officials, telling them that you will not stand for malicious, militant theocrats keeping you oppressed as a second-class citizen. To find contact information for your U.S. Representative, go here. Contact info for your state's two U.S. Senators is here.  Don't forget that the malicious gay-bashing bigots of CWFA also lobby your state representatives and senators; those elected officials, too, should know what you think of this hate group lobbying against gay Americans' equality.

Dear (fill in elected official's name)

This is to express utmost concern about illicit influence being exercised on the US Government by the anti-gay hate group Concerned Women for America.

CWFA's overriding justification for attempting to perpetuate sexual orientation apartheid is their untestable hearsay allegation that God hates homosexuality. Not only is the United States not a theocracy; whole churches ordain out married gay and/or lesbian ministers. The CWFA has no privileged relationship with God, and no sustainable claim to know, better than Christians fully accepting of gay people and supportive of their legal equality, what God wants American legislators to do with respect to gay rights. When anti-gay hate groups duplicitously claim that gay rights ipso facto curtail religious liberties, you can be sure that they are not talking about the religious liberties of churches, synagogues and other religious organizations that favor full equality for LGBT Americans.

CWFA's chief officers give themselves out to be "experts" where they are not at all qualified to speak on the given topic. Janice Crouse, for instance, recently released a gay-bashing video in which she falsified health statistics with a conspicuous intent to demonize all gay human beings. Crouse said, for example, that anal cancer is "very prevalent" among homosexuals. In truth, anal cancer in all populations is too rare a disease accurately to be described as "prevalent." Crouse has no qualifications or authority to speak about public health matters. Her Master's thesis was on Camp Meeting Preaching.

CWFA habitually demonizes sexual minorities with fraudulent statistics and lies. For such a hate group to influence any American legislative body potentially is unconstitutional and certainly debases the legislative body influenced.  I respectfully ask that whenever LGBT Americans' rights are involved in a proposed piece of legislation, you reject lobbying and lies from malicious anti-gay hate groups, and weigh your considerations of the proposed legislation in light of what scientific sources such as the American Medical Association have to say about sexual orientation.

Sincerely,
